
Most likely a cell phone tower, but with the sun rising and the fog off in the valley, it looks more like a remote outpost in Antartica than the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Clingman’s Dome, where this image was taken, is the second highest point east of the Mississippi. At a height of 6,643 feet, this is actually at a lower altitude than places I’ve previously lived.
